“I wanna go to Mama’s house.”

My daughter told me this morning that that’s what Brody kept saying last night after they moved into their apartment. To say that didn’t bring tears to my eyes would be a lie.  He definitely is Grandma’s boy and I  L O V E it!  When I was up there yesterday he would say to me “We go to your house as fast as we can”   Isn’t that the cutest thing ever?

It is going to be a big adjustment for him.  He’s been here for over a year and he’s only 3 so really, this is all he knows. This is home to him. She went and bought the kids all new bedding and she got Brody a Lightening McQueen set from the movie Cars for his bed.  It didn’t help though. He slept with her last night and kept saying, “ I scared” . Poor little guy.

They still have a lot of things here they have to get so that’s what we’ll be doing today.  Brody’s toys are still here and some of the Josh’s and Devan’s things as well. Then she will have to go to the grocery store. Right now her cupboards looks like Old Mother Hubbards.  I gave her some things from here last night to get her through breakfast though.

It sure was quiet here last night I tell ya.  I kept thinking about them and missing them.  I don’t know who will have the hardest time adjusting, Brody or Me!  It’s a toss up I think.  I feel better knowing that they are only 5 minutes away and they’ll still be here after school.  I’m just happy that she found a nice, clean, modern and SAFE place! That’s the most important of all.

    I bet Brody is really missing you and the familiar surroundings. He will get used to it but it will take time.

    I understand your feeling my friend. We've been very close to my parents with occasional stints with us being abroad for months at a time. I pray that the transition because a blessing as time goes by.

    "It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home." Congratulations on your daughter's new home and all the best for unpacking. Here's hoping and wishing that their new home is filled with joy and cheer, bringing them happiness year after year. None the less... you are the perfect grandmomma and no wonder your grandbabies would be missing you. A child needs a grandparent to grow a little more securely into an unfamiliar world.

I haven't forgotten any of you. It's just that when I sit down to write a blog Brody will get into something and I have to get up to see what he's doing. I swear, I'm up and down a million times a day. I will say one thing, he is learning that no means no. Sometimes you have to be more stubborn then he is but sooner or later he realizes that I'm bigger and stronger then he is lol. He'll be 3 soon so he knows when he's being naughty but like most 2 year olds, they keep trying. His favorite thing is getting into the refrigerator and that drives me bananas. That’s what our neighbors light over her garage was doing the other night. Bill looked out the window and told me Marilyn’s light is flashing on and off. Since I was still dressed and he was in his pj’s I said I would go over and check on her. We wondered of course if she was okay so I put my shoes on and went over there. I knocked on her door and started to open it when she came to the door and I asked her if she was alright. She had been crying but she was okay. It turns out that she had been watching a movie on television and she said she always cries at movies. I told her we wondered if everything was okay because her light on the garage kept flashing but it turns out that something was wrong with the light. She was thankful for me coming over to check on her but felt silly because I caught her crying lol. I told her I was just glad she was okay and that nothing was wrong. I do wonder if the light might have shorted out eventually though and maybe cause some problems there. It’

Rest in Peace Aunt Dot

My Aunt Dot passed away this morning. My cousin said she was with her and that she went peacefully to which we are thankful for. My cousins doctor made her go home last night and she called me worried that her mom might pass when she's not there and she said she'll feel so guilty if that happens. I told her that if her mom goes during the night it's because it's what she chose to do but that I really feel that she will wait for her, I'm so glad I was right. Micky took care of her mom for many years and I knew Aunt Dot wouldn't go without Micky being by her side. Let me tell you a llittle about Aunt Dot. She loved life. She loved playing Bingo, she loved the Packers and she loved to dance. She loved Hank Williams and she loved polka music. Whenever we were anywhere there was music and they played polka's she'd drag me out on the dance floor to dance with her. The Hot Shodish (sp) was her favorite dance and I was one of the few who could keep up with her
